Green Innovations Take the Spotlight at 2023 ATIV Conference

At the conference "Environmental Sustainability and Economics of Glass Production. Combination and/or Autonomy," organized by ATIV (Association of Italian Glass Technicians) and held in Parma on November 16 and 17, 2023, our cutting-edge innovation projects were in the spotlight. Head of Innovation Ernesto Cattaneo, alongside R&D Engineer Andrea Barberis, showcased the initiatives LIFE SUGAR and H2GLASS. These projects represent our commitment to advancing sustainability and innovation within the glass industry.

The LIFE SUGAR PROJECT focuses on reducing the carbon footprint of glass production, implementing sustainable practices, and exploring alternative energy sources. H2GLASS, on the other hand, delves into the integration of hydrogen as a clean energy alternative, aiming to revolutionize the way glass is manufactured by minimizing greenhouse gas emissions.

The conference was an inspiring event, teeming with scientists and technicians from across the globe, all eager to share their knowledge and discoveries. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as attendees engaged in exchanged innovative ideas.

A highlight of the event was the networking dinner, where participants enjoyed traditional Italian cuisine while sharing anecdotes and experiences from the glass industry. This informal setting fostered deeper connections and provided a platform for the exchange of valuable insights and stories.

Ernesto Cattaneo and Andrea Barberis also introduced our advanced computing methods, demonstrating how technology can drive efficiency and precision in glass production. Their presentations underscored the importance of embracing digital transformation to achieve sustainable industrial practices.

The 2023 ATIV Conference was not just an event but a celebration of innovation and a testament to the collaborative spirit that drives the glass industry forward. Our participation highlighted their dedication to sustainability and their role as pioneers in the quest for a greener future. The exchange of ideas and experiences at this conference will undoubtedly contribute to the ongoing evolution of the glass industry, paving the way for more sustainable and efficient practices.
